The “Tatarstan” Stage of Filming for the Movie The Teacher About Shigabutdin Marjani Has Been Completed
The joint production of the film began in Uzbekistan at the end of last year. Filming in Tatarstan started in January, with most scenes shot at the “Tatar Avyly” ethnographic village in the village of Isakovo, Zelenodolsky District. Filmmakers chose this location as the one most closely reflecting the period in which the educator lived. Interior scenes were filmed at the Sharif Kamal Museum. This was reported by the press service of the Altyn Minbar Film Festival. The film tells the story of the life of Shigabutdin Marjani — an educator, scholar, and philosopher. The plot covers his childhood, his years of study, and his formation as a scholar in Bukhara and Samarkand, key centers of Islamic science and culture in the 19th century. The premiere screening of The Teacher is planned as part of the Kazan International Film Festival Altyn Minbar in early September this year. The festival itself has been included in the program of events “Kazan — Cultural Capital of the Islamic World.” Photo: press service of the film festival
