Ilsur Khadiullin, Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan, addressed the participants of the session with a welcoming speech, emphasizing the existence of strong ties in the field of education between the Republic of Tatarstan and the OIC. The Minister noted that 17,000 students from OIC countries study in Tatarstan.

In October, 2022, a Memorandum of Understanding between the RT Ministry of Education and the OIC was signed, and the implementation of this document made it possible to admit more than 84,000 students from OIC countries to Russian universities to study on a budgetary basis. Over 7,000 quotas have been allocated for the OIC countries for the current academic year.

Malaysian Minister of Higher Education Mohamed Khaled Nordin said: “We must not stop the development of technology, we must manage technology.”

Rector of Moscow State University Viktor Sadovnichiy spoke about the work of the Eurasian Association of Universities, which unites 140 universities from 11 countries. Viktor Antonovich presented the national rating “Three Missions of the University” reflecting the activities of universities in such areas as fundamentality, culture and service to society.

Vitaly Naumkin, Scientific Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, noted the need to develop the concept of “State of civilization” in relation to Russia, and noted the problem of the language of academic communication as one of the challenges facing the world academic community.

Currently, more than 11,000 citizens of 101 countries study at KFU (Kazan Federal University).

The Rector of the Tajik State Medical University named after Abu Ali ibn Sino Gulzod Mahmadshoh Kurbonali shared his vision of the main trends in education. Noting that artificial intelligence makes it possible to improve the individual strategies of students, he emphasized that in the modern world it is necessary to prepare students to work in international teams, forming integration skills at the Universities.
