The main drivers of cooperation between the two countries were agriculture and food security, noted the speakers of the round table. But there are prospects for cooperation in the agricultural sector and green energy.

"Russia supplies to Malaysia mainly mineral products - 91.1%, fertilizers, metals, as well as food products. We import foodstuffs from Malaysia - a large share is palm and coconut oil. We also buy electronic products, clothing and footwear from Malaysia. We can increase exports of mixed fertilizers to Malaysia.

We know that stable supplies of fertilizers from Russia are of great importance for the development of an important sector of the Malaysian economy - palm oil production. We see great potential and interest from the Malaysian side to increase exports of agricultural products to Malaysia," said Dmitry Vakhrukov, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation.
