For crossing the border of the Russian Federation, the following documents are required:

A. If a visa is required:

  • Visa
  • Valid passport
  • Medical insurance policy valid on the territory of the Russian Federation
B. If a visa is not required:

  • Valid passport
  • Medical insurance policy valid on the territory of the Russian Federation
How to obtain a visa to enter the Russian Federation?

There are two possible options:

  1. Apply for a visa through the consular offices of the Russian Federation abroad (with the support of the Organizing Committee of KazanForum 2024, all participants of the 15th International Economic Forum "Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum 2024" can obtain a visa).
  2. Apply for an electronic visa (with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, citizens of 55 countries can obtain an electronic visa, with the list provided in the Electronic Visa Application section below).

Applying for a visa through the consular offices of the Russian Federation abroad.

It is recommended to apply to the consular offices of the Russian Federation at least 2 weeks before your departure.
Validity period of a short-term single-entry visa to the Russian Federation: from May 7th to May 25th, 2024.
Permitted period of stay on the territory of the Russian Federation: from May 7th to May 25th, 2024.
The visa application is subject to a fee. Expenses related to visa application are not covered by the Organizing Committee of KazanForum 2024. Refunds are not provided for any processing outcome.
The Organizing Committee of KazanForum 2024 will provide all possible support in obtaining the visa. However, it should be mentioned that the final decision is made solely by the consular office of the Russian Federation abroad.
How to obtain a visa through the consular office of the Russian Federation?
  1. Obtaining an official invitation.
    • Log in to your participant account on the website https://kazanforum.ru/en/.
    • Go to the Visa Card section.
    • Familiarize yourself with the detailed instructions in this section and fill out the Excel file called Visa Support (it is required to enter the participant's passport details).
    • Send the completed Excel file and a scan of the participant's passport to the email address info@kazanforum.ru.
    • Approval of the participant's documents by the Organizing Committee of KazanForum 2024 takes approximately 1–2 days. You will receive a confirmation email to the address you provided.
    • After approval, download the official invitation to the 15th International Economic Forum "Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum 2024" from A.A. Kobyakov and a visa card in your personal account. Print out these documents.
  2. Applying to the consular office of the Russian Federation.
On this website https://mid.ru/en/maps/, you may familiarize yourself with information regarding the locations of the consular offices of the Russian Federation in foreign states. If there is no consular office in your country, you should apply to the nearest consular office of the Russian Federation.

To apply to the consular office of the Russian Federation, it is mandatory to have the following documents:

  • Printed visa card and official invitation to the 15th International Economic Forum "Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum 2024" from A.A. Kobyakov (the document is generated in the personal account on the website of KazanForum 2024 https://kazanforum.ru/en/).

  • Valid passport (the passport must have at least 2 blank pages and be valid for at least six months after the expiration date of the requested visa).

  • Completed and printed visa application form (the visa application form must be filled out on the website of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation https://visa.kdmid.ru).

  • Members of official delegations, representatives of business circles, and their accompanying persons must indicate the purpose of the trip: "official visits," "diplomatic visits," or "business visits"; as for journalists, they must enter "press/correspondent," "press/technical."

  • One photo sized 3,5 x 4,5 cm (in color or black and white).

A clear image of the face frontally without glasses with tinted lenses and without headgear (except for foreign citizens, for whom wearing headgear is a mandatory attribute of their national or religious identity, provided that the foreign citizen is depicted in such headgear in the passport photo).

  • Medical insurance policy valid on the territory of the Russian Federation.  


More detailed information about the documentation is available on the websites of the consular offices of the Russian Federation where you intend to apply for your visa. The application form and conditions may vary depending on the country.
Applying for an electronic visa.
It is recommended to apply for an electronic visa no earlier than 40 days and no later than 4 days before the date of the entry into the Russian Federation. Validity period of a single-entry visa to the Russian Federation: 60 days from the date of issue. Permitted period of stay on the territory of the Russian Federation: not more than 16 days from the date of the entry into the Russian Federation.

The electronic visa application is subject to a fee. Expenses related to visa application are not covered by the Organizing Committee of KazanForum 2024. Refunds are not provided for any processing outcome.

The electronic visa can be obtained by citizens of 55 countries (the list can be found on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian https://electronic-visa.kdmid.ru/country_en.html).

How to obtain an electronic visa to the Russian Federation?

To apply for an electronic visa, you need to reach out to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. To do this, go to the specialized website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation https://electronic-visa.kdmid.ru/index_en.html and fill out the application form for an electronic visa.
