For the first time in the history of Russia, the Congress of the OIC Ministers of Culture will be held in Kazan
During the working trip to Saudi Arabia, Olga Lyubimova, the Minister of Culture of Russia, met with Tariq Ali Bakheet, Deputy Secretary General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation for Humanitarian, Cultural and Social Affairs. There was also a meeting with Turko Daudov, Permanent Representative of Russia to the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation in Jeddah, and His Highness Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Farhan Al Saud, Minister of Culture of Saudi Arabia.

Lyubimova emphasised the importance of developing cultural cooperation between Russia and the Islamic world, noting that in May the XVI International Economic Forum "Russia – the Islamic World: KazanForum" will be held in Kazan. For the first time in the history of Russia, the city of Kazan will also host the Congress of OIC Ministers of Culture. It is also reported that in 2026 Kazan may participate in the Cultural Capital of the Islamic World ISESCO programme.

The Minister invited Tariq Ali Bakheet to the St. Petersburg International United Cultures Forum, which will be held in September. In response, the OIC Secretary General proposed organising a large-scale exhibition in Russia dedicated to the history and culture of the Islamic world.
