14 FebruaryIslamic finance is one of the most fast-growing sectors of the world economy, attracting billions of dollars in investments. The area is actively developing in Tatarstan, among other Russian regions, with Kazan consolidating its status as a key platform for the introduction of Islamic financial instruments.
The General Council for Islamic Banks and Financial Institutions (CIBAFI) is a leading international organisation founded in 2001 and affiliated with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). The programme will be inaugurated by the Secretary General of CIBAFI Dr. Abdelilah Belatik, an international finance expert with over 25 years of experience in leading financial centres around the world. Dr Belatik has served as Assistant Secretary General of the Islamic Financial Services Board (IFSB), making significant contributions to the organisation’s strategic activities, as well as Chairman of Turritopsis, the Strategic Institute for Sustainable Development. Abdelilah Belatik is currently a member of several international boards and advisory groups, including the AAOIFI Public Interest Monitoring Consultative Committee (PIMCC), the IASB Islamic Finance Consultative Group (IFCG), and the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development (AAAID).
The training course has been created for participants in the partnership (Islamic) finance experiment, aiming to provide an in-depth study of the key principles of the Islamic financial system. Over a span of three days, the participants will gain practical skills that will help them to successfully apply Islamic finance tools in business and investments, whereas at the end of the course, they will receive official CIBAFI certificates confirming their proficiency in Islamic finance.
