Sergey Lavrov Paid a Working Visit to Qatar
27 FebruaryDuring the meetings, the key areas of further strengthening the traditionally friendly Russian-Qatari relations were discussed in detail. At the same time, Moscow and Doha’s unwavering commitment to maintaining ongoing trust-based political dialogue, building up trade, economic, investment, cultural, and humanitarian co-operation was reaffirmed as well.
The crucial co-ordinating role of the Joint Russian-Qatari Commission on Trade, Economic, and Technical Cooperation, the next meeting of which is to be held in Doha in March, was emphasised against this background.
The dignitaries also highlighted the mutual interest in continuing effective co-operation within the framework of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum with its headquarters in Doha.
During the visit of the Russian delegation to Doha, Bulat Gabdrakhmanov, Deputy Minister of Digitalisation of Public Administration, Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Tatarstan, and Ruslan Vlasov, General Director of Tatarstan IT Park, signed an agreement to establish an IT Project Implementation Centre in Qatar with Sheikh Suhaim bin Ahmed bin Sultan bin Jassim Al Thani, a member of the ruling family of the State of Qatar and owner of AL ADID Business Holding.
“In this way, Tatarstan’s innovative developments will have access to new markets and the opportunity to scale internationally. This is an important step in strengthening the position of our Republic in the global digital ecosystem,” Ayrat Khayrullin, Minister of Digitalisation of the Republic of Tatarstan, stated.
