Auditing Standards of Partnership Finance to be Adapted for Russia at KazanForum 2025

The AAOIFI International Conference “Islamic Finance and Investment: Promoting Sustainable Development and Global Partnership” will take place in Russia for the first time, being one of the most important events of the KazanForum 2025 Business Programme. The Conference was traditionally held in Bahrain on an annual basis. The year 2025 is a significant milestone for Russian-Bahraini diplomatic relations: the countries celebrate 35 years of co-operation.
The AAIOFI conference is an expert, professional, specialised event that unites like minded people in the development of Islamic banking instruments. Participants discuss innovative products and new instruments on the market, learn the principles of their operation, and share best practices.
The following guests are expected to participate in the Conference: Shaikh Ebrahim Bin Khalifa Al-Khalifa, Chairman of AAOIFI Board of Trustees; Shaikh Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani, Chairman of the AAOIFI Shari’ah Board, Islamic scholar; Rustam Minnikhanov, Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan; Anatoly Aksakov, Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation; Anatoly Kozlachkov, President of the Association of Banks of Russia; Oleg Ganeev, Senior Vice President of PAO Sberbank; representatives of the Central Bank and Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation.
“Bahrain is home to AAOIFI, a subsidiary of the Islamic Development Bank, which develops Islamic finance standards. Today we need to figure out how these standards can be used in Russia, taking into consideration the current legislation, and how we should adapt them,” Taliya Minullina, head of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency, noted. “We have been translating these standards from Arabic for about five years, but their integration is a complex task that must be solved gradually; we would need to make changes into the tax code and other core documents.”
The Event is organised by the Accounting and Auditing Organisation for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI), Tatarstan Investment Development Agency, and the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan. PAO Sberbank will act as a strategic partner of the Event.
