KazanForum to Discuss Digital Interface Protection and Cyber Security
Sergey Vershinin, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, announced a session dedicated to protecting digital interfaces and “borders” along with countering cyberattacks that will be held within the Forum “Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum”.

“We are holding it in response to requests for co-operation coming from Islamic states in the Middle East, Africa, and South and South-East Asia. Intergovernmental agreements have been concluded with many of them, while collaboration involving our developers is successfully underway,” Vershinin explained.

According to the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Russia and the Islamic world have “close or coinciding positions on the digital agenda across international platforms, primarily in the UN and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU)”.

“First and foremost, the session will focus on approaches to protecting digital interfaces and ‘borders’, regulating national information spaces, and countering cyberattacks. We are already preparing reports from government agencies and leading Russian companies,” Vershinin added.

He also emphasised that all Forum participants will have an opportunity to speak and ask questions.

“We aim to clarify the specific needs of our partners to further
deepen the co-operation in the field of information security,” the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs concluded.
