A press conference dedicated to the XVI International Economic Forum “Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum” was held in Moscow
The press conference was attended by representatives of government authorities, ministries, and departments, including:

- Taliya Minullina, Head of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency, member of the Forum Federal Organising Committee 
-  Alexander Stuglev, Chairman of the Board and CEO of the Roscongress Foundation
- Pavel Kalmychek, Director of the Department for Development of Bilateral Cooperation at the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation 
- Konstantin Kolpakov, Head of the Department for International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation 
- Ekaterina Akopyan, Chairperson of the Council of Young Diplomats at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation 

The event touched upon key highlights of the upcoming Forum, such as the structure of the business and cultural programmes, the composition of international delegations, as well as strategic areas of economic interaction between Russia and the countries of the Islamic world.

The main topics of the press conference included:

• Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia, has confirmed his participation in KazanForum 2025. His visit will contribute to the strengthening of the Russian-Malaysian strategic partnership.

• Kazan will host the Malaysia Urban Forum for the first time, which will be held alongside KazanForum and serve as a platform for sharing best practices in sustainable urban development as well as architectural solutions.

• Russia will host the International Conference on Islamic Finance under the authority of AAOIFI (Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions) for the first time as well. This milestone event is expected to attract leading experts and regulators from the countries of the Islamic world and become a starting point for the systemic development of Islamic banking and finance in Russia.

• It is planned to sign more than 50 agreements within the framework of the Forum, which emphasises the high degree of involvement and practical interest of Islamic countries in the investment into and technological co-operation with Russia.

• The International Property Market (IPM) –– an international exhibition of real estate, architecture, and design –– will be held for the second time, bringing together developers, investors, architects, and representatives of municipal administrations.

• Information security will be a centrepiece of discussions. Participants will focus on international co-operation in digital security, responding to cyber threats, and strengthening digital sovereignty.

The Forum “Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum” continues to reinforce its role as the main platform for holding strategic dialogue as well as uniting the interests of nations, businesses, and scientific and cultural communities in the new geo-economic realities.
