International Kids Football Tournament “Eastern Cup” to Proceed During KazanForum

From 14 to 17 May, Kazan will host the International Kids Football Tournament “Eastern Cup”, which will include teams from countries within the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.
So far, teams from Oman, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Azerbaijan, and Kyrgyzstan have applied to participate. For ‘‘My School’’, the team from Oman, the Kazan Tournament will be the first international competition, while ‘‘Lokomotiv’’, Uzbekistani team, won the title ‘‘Best Goal of the Tournament’’ last year.
The matches will be played in 7 on 7 format (one goalkeeper and six field players) on the fields of Molodaya Gvardiya Children’s Sports and Health Camp in the picturesque forest tract of Lebyazhye Nature Reserve. The age of the Tournament participants is 10-11 years on average.
‘‘Rubin Football Club, being one of the Tournament Organisers, will gladly welcome teams from different countries to this established competition. During the Tournament, the Forum will hold a sports session with the team leaders as well as a Football Gala match involving young diplomats and stars of FC Rubin. The main goal of this match will be to demonstrate that there are no political, national, religious, or any other barriers and obstacles in sport.
‘‘Russia has a world-class and international-class sports infrastructure. For Arab countries, this presents an opportunity to send their teams to us for training camps during the hot season. There is also potential in terms of training coaches across various areas. And it is not just football. That is why this year’s KazanForum Programme is filled with sessions pertaining to sports along with events such as football tournaments,’’ notes Taliya Minullina, member of the KazanForum Federal Organising Committee and Head of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency.
The “Eastern Cup” was established in 2024 by FC Rubin and the Ministry of Sport of the Republic of Tatarstan. The first ever tournament was held in Kazan from 20 to 22 September 2024. It featured 10 teams from Russia, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, and Kyrgyzstan. The winner of the tournament was the Rubin team

The Roscongress Foundation acts as the Operator for the preparation and holding of the Event, whereas ANO ‘‘Directorate for Sports and Social Projects’’ serves as the Operator’s Executive Directorate.
