Transport Produced at Kamaz May Appear in the DPR

On the side-lines of the XVI International Economic Forum “Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum” representatives of the Donetsk People's Republic discussed cooperation involving the supply of transport from PAO Kamaz. This was told to journalists by Denis Pushilin, Head of the DPR.
“This also applies to trolleybuses and buses. Now the active phase of the discussion is in progress. Most likely, we will be able to co-operate in this direction, which is mutually beneficial for both the Republic of Tatarstan and the DPR,” Head of the region declared.
Denis Pushilin said that as the combative line is pushed back, security issues are being regulated, processes have been launched to restore the work of enterprises. “Industrial potential cannot be restrained for a long time, being at a state when it is not in demand. And now we see that the revival of Donbass is in an active phase, we are really reviving Donbass. Now investments in different directions appear,” Head of the DPR mentioned.
According to Denis Pushilin, the issue of construction is at the forefront, since there is a large housing shortage in the region. He noted that there is a set of preferences for developers in the region, for example, a preferential mortgage at 2%, a free economic zone.
“We are interested in building, and now we are talking not only about Mariupol, but also about the Donetsk-Makeevskaya agglomeration, 124 km of the coast,” Denis Pushilin said.
According to the Head of the region, industrial facilities are leased on a competitive basis with the right of redemption and management – various models are used. Denis Pushilin also called agriculture a promising industry for investment.
Another priority direction in the development of the economy for the Donetsk People’s Republic is tourism. The 124-kilometer coast of the Azov Sea within the borders of the region opens up wide opportunities in this area.
“We have divided the tourism industry into 5 clusters, we are already developing in 3 areas. But there will be additional opportunities, as many have heard everything related to heroic settlements. They will be of interest to tourists in the future, who will want to see what Avdeyevka, Ugledar, Artemovsk, Bakhmut and others are. We have plans to equip such sites as, for example, Pavlov’s House in Volgograd. Entire neighbourhoods can be mothballed to make it clear what people were facing. Here we have the directions to develop: collaboration of recreation, museum and exhibition activities and memorable places will be very attractive for tourists,” said Head of the DPR.

The International Economic Forum “Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum”, which was granted federal status in 2022 by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation, is being held for the 16th time on 14-16 May 2025. The Programme includes 200 events such as a Congress of Ministers of Transport within the Islamic countries; a Congress of Ministers of Culture within the Islamic countries; a Congress of Prosecutors General within the Islamic countries; a Congress of Auditors within the Islamic countries; the world’s largest conference on Islamic finance; conferences on the halal industry; a forum of Chambers of Commerce and Industry within the Islamic countries; as well as international exhibitions on economy, trade, and real estate held over 40 thousand sq. m. Representatives from 103 countries registered to participate in 2025. In 2024, the Event gathered more than 20 thousand participants from 87 countries, 87 constituent subjects of the Russian Federation, along with more than 40 diplomatic missions.
