On July 4, 2025, a press conference was held in Moscow following talks between Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, and Faisal Bin Farhan Al Saud, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

During the meeting, the parties discussed key aspects of bilateral cooperation, confirming the high level of political dialogue between the countries and the interest in further deepening cooperation. Special attention was paid to the dynamics of trade and economic ties, as well as the work of the Intergovernmental Russian-Saudi Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation.

They confirmed their intention to continue cooperation within the framework of the OPEC+ format, which the parties consider to be an effective mechanism for stabilising the global energy market. A wide range of regional issues were also discussed, including initiatives to ensure stability and develop partnerships in the Middle East.

Sergey Lavrov noted the important role of Saudi Arabia in developing dialogue in the region and expressed confidence in the Kingdom's productive participation in the first Russia–Arab League summit to be held in October 2025 in Moscow.

Following the talks, the Russian Foreign Minister stressed the trust-based nature of the negotiations and expressed satisfaction with the agreements reached.
