On August 5-10, 2025, the King Sultan Ibrahim of Malaysia will Be in Russia on a State Visit at the Invitation of the Russian President Vladimir Putin

The visit is to include:
- official events, including a meeting with the Russian leader;
- visits to the Central Scientific Research Automobile and Automotive Engines Institute (NAMI) and to the “Tochka kipeniya” (Pivotal point) Technology and Innovation Center;
- a trip to the Republic of Tatarstan, where Sultan Ibrahim will have a meeting with the Rais (Head) of the Republic, Rustam Minnikhanov, and will visit the Kazan Helicopter Plant.
Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim identified the King’s visit to Russia as a historic event. He noted that Sultan Ibrahim will be the first Malaysian monarch to pay a state visit to Russia since diplomatic relations were established in 1967.
