“I would like to emphasise that the upcoming KazanForum 2026 will be held within a landmark event – Kazan receiving the status of the cultural capital of the Islamic world. This decision highlights the city’s importance as the centre of Islamic culture and heritage as well as its role in intercultural dialogue. We believe that this milestone must be reflected in the agenda of KazanForum and the meeting of the Russia – Islamic World Strategic Vision Group. It is proposed to name the plenary session of the forum ‘From Points on the Map to Points of Growth – Uniting Technological and Financial Initiatives,’” stated Rustam Minnikhanov.
The rais of Tatarstan proposed holding KazanForum 2026 on 14-15 May 2026. The forum is designed to be a platform for enhancing interaction between Russia and Islamic countries. Participants are showing particular interest in bilateral sessions dedicated to developing interstate ties in a wide range of issues. It is important to continue strengthening this dialogue by offering relevant topics for discussion within the forum’s business and cultural events,” stressed Anton Kobyakov.
He also noted that meetings between Russian President Vladimir Putin and leaders of Arab countries are scheduled for October 2025.
