Russia, China, Iran, and Pakistan Held a Meeting on the Afghan Issue
The meeting was held as part of the high-level week of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov participated in the meeting, according to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

The parties discussed the current situation in Afghanistan and expressed their desire to see the country become an independent and peaceful state. Participants noted the need for constructive and pragmatic cooperation between the international community and Kabul to facilitate the development of Afghan statehood and strengthen regional and international stability.

Following the four-party meeting, a joint statement was adopted.
