Tatarstan and AAOIFI Signed a Memorandum

A delegation from Tatarstan, led by Minister of Economy Midhat Shagiakhmetov, took part in the 20th annual conference on Islamic banking and finance in Bahrain, organized by AAOIFI (Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions).
During the meeting, Midhat Shagiakhmetov emphasized the importance of integrating the Russian financial market into the global Islamic finance system and touched upon the development of artificial intelligence as part of digital transformation.
The parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan and AAOIFI. They also discussed partnership funding, educational programs, and the functioning of the organization’s representative office in Kazan, which will serve as an expert platform for industry development.
