The Official Opening Date of the “Kazan – Cultural Capital of the Islamic World” Year has been Announced

The presentation of the “Kazan – Cultural Capital of the Islamic World – 2026” Year was held at the Reception House of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in Moscow.
The Rais (Head) of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, announced the exact date for the official opening of the Year – May 14, 2026, at the International Economic Forum “Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum”.
In its new status, Kazan will host a meeting of the “Russia – Islamic World” Group of Strategic Vision, Congress of the OIC Ministers of Culture, Modest Fashion Festival, International Muslim Film Festival, and youth events.
“Over its thousand-year history, the city has become a symbol of the harmonious coexistence of Islamic and Orthodox traditions. The spiritual heritage, sharing a common foundation of values, is closely intertwined here with moral guidelines that help us see many things in the same light,” noted the Russian Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova.
