Russia’s First Official Halal Certification Body Created in Tatarstan

The Halal Standards Committee of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Republic of Tatarstan has become the first body in Russian history to be officially granted state status in the field of halal certification by Rosaccreditation.

The Federal Accreditation Service examined all the Committee’s internal documentation; verified the qualifications of auditors, technical experts, and Shariah advisors; and assessed production control and product quality assurance procedures. The accreditation confirmed that the Committee possesses the necessary competence and professional resources to carry out comprehensive halal certification.

A halal certificate issued by an accredited body facilitates Russian manufacturers’ entry into foreign markets, as well as boosts consumer confidence within the country. Such Committee’s certificates have already been recognised as valid across 22 countries.

Rosaccreditation will hold a special session dedicated to halal certification and the entry of Russian products into foreign markets as part of KazanForum. To open the door for the talks directly between Russian producers and foreign partners, the Russian Ministry of Agriculture will also conduct a session titled “Export of Russian Halal Products: Incentives for Entering New Markets”. Furthermore, the Forum will host the Kazan Halal Market International Trade Fair, featuring producers from Russia, Turkmenistan, Jordan, and other countries

Kazan Halal Market will take place from 12 to 17 May at the Agro Industrial Park Kazan, located at 2, Agrarnaya Street. Admission is free.
