Diplomatic Anniversary: Russia and the KSA to Abolish Visas
An agreement to lift visa requirements for all types of passports have been signed between Russia and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) to mark the centenary since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries, celebrated on 19 February 2026. Consequentially, Russians will be able to visit the Kingdom visa-free starting 11 May. The decision has been confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

Over the past year, the number of Russians travelling to Saudi Arabia has increased by 42%, whereas the number of Saudi citizens visiting Russia by 35%. The new agreement is expected to further boost these figures and deepen the partnership amongst the states. The development of bilateral relations between Russia
and Saudi Arabia will serve as one of the key topics on the 2026 business agenda
of the 17th International Economic Forum “Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum”.
