KazanForum Brings Together the Traditions of the East

The Festival of Eastern Cultures, part of the cultural programme of the 17th International Economic Forum "Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum", continues its work. The event is organised by Kazan Federal University together with the "Al-hadara" Centre for Arab Culture.
The aim of the Festival is to foster cultural dialogue and to strengthen international academic and humanitarian co-operation.
The three-day Festival features a packed programme of events showcasing a wide range of cultures. It includes photographic and art exhibitions, video and poster competitions, open lectures, masterclasses in languages and calligraphy, and cultural performances by representatives of the Islamic world.
The Festival holds particular value for those who understand that lasting international cooperation begins not with a contract, but with the intellectual capacity to see another culture not as something exotic, but as a fully-fledged world of meaning.
The Festival runs from 13 to 15 May at Kazan Expo IEC, Cluster C. Admission is free for holders of a Forum badge.
