US$4.5 Billion in Trade: Tatarstan and Türkiye Review Partnership Achievements and Future Prospects

On 1 July, a delegation from the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), led by its President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, arrived in Kazan. The organisation's previous visit to Tatarstan took place in 2021 during the International Economic Forum “Russia-Islamic World: KazanForum”.
Talks with the Turkish delegation were held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tatarstan. Discussions focused on key areas of cooperation, including the automotive industry, machine tool manufacturing, agriculture, information technology, light industry, tourism and construction. The delegation was also presented with the Kazan Marina development project, a new tourism destination, and took part in a cultural programme featuring a visit to the G. Kamal Theatre.
The delegation later met with the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan at the Government House of the Republic. During the meeting, Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu praised the Republic's work with foreign investors and commended the high standard of organisation of international events in Tatarstan.
The discussions centred on deepening trade, economic and investment cooperation, while also identifying new areas for future collaboration.
“Tatarstan attaches great importance to developing trade, economic and investment cooperation with our Turkish partners. The Republic serves as an effective bridge between Russia and Türkiye,” the Rais of Tatarstan said.
Türkiye remains one of Tatarstan's most important international partners. Bilateral trade reached US$4.5 billion last year. Rustam Minnikhanov presented Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu with the Order of Friendship (Duslyk) in recognition of his contribution to strengthening cooperation between the two sides.
