The Republic's Organizing committee for the preparation of the International Economic Forum "Russia – the Islamic World: KazanForum" was held by Rustam Minnikhanov

The meeting of the Republic's Organizing committee for the preparation and implementation of the International Economic Forum "Russia – the Islamic World: KazanForum" was held today by the Rais (Head) of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.

The meeting was held in the Government House of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Rustam Minnikhanov reminded that since 2023 the forum has received federal status. Its preparation and implementation is going to be held in partnership with the Roscongress Foundation.

According to Rustam Minnikhanov, KazanForum is an effective economic tool for expanding cooperation between the Russian Federation and Muslim countries. Furthermore, the Forum is also an integral part of the activities of the Russia-Islamic World strategic vision group (it is headed by Rustam Minnikhanov on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin).

The International Economic Forum "Russia – the Islamic World: KazanForum" will be held on May 18-19.

On February 2, in Moscow, the chairman of the Organizing committee, Marat Khusnullin, held the first meeting and provided the necessary guidance for further work.

As a result of the Federal Organizing Committee a draft protocol has been formed.

The main events will be held at the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Center, the Kazan Kremlin, the Kazan City Hall, the Kazan Tennis Academy, the Agro-Industrial Park and at the Bashir Rameev IT Park

Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that it is essential to carefully prepare the venues for events, organize the accommodation of guests, provide economic support, food, transport logistics.

The head of the Roscongress Foundation Alexander Stuglev said that the work on the preparation of KazanForum is already well underway. He expressed his confidence in the fact that from 2023 the International Economic Forum "Russia – the Islamic World: KazanForum" will take a permanent place in the international events calendar.

The Chief Executive of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina gave details regarding the main events of the forum. In particular, she said that meetings of inter-parliamentary commissions and working groups will be held on May 17, about 127 business sessions and events are scheduled on the Kazan Expo site on May 18-19, a Russia Halal Market will be held in the Agro-Industrial Park of Kazan on May 20, the cultural programme of the day will consist of a Muslim fashion show and other events. The readiness of cultural facilities for the forum was reported by the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan Irada Ayupova. She presented the project of the repertoire of Kazan theaters and also reported on the ongoing work in the souvenir filling.

The head of the Tatmedia agency, Aidar Salimgarayev reported on how it is planned to provide information support for the forum's events, on open accreditation for the media (it will last until mid-April).

The Regional Operative Headquarters for the forum was headed by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Chief of Staff of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan Shamil Gafarov. The meetings will be held weekly.
