Guided tours of old Kazan, Bolgar and Sviyazhsk will be held for guests of KazanForum

A diverse excursion program has been developed in Tatarstan for participants and guests of the XIV International Economic Forum "Russia – the Islamic World: KazanForum". Among other things, trips to major historical centers of the republic, such as Bolgar and Sviyazhsk, are provided.

"We will be glad to meet the guests of the forum and show our unique centers of spiritual and religious culture. Bolgar and Sviyazhsk are not only historical sights, they are UNESCO sites. Bolgar is the northernmost point of acceptance of Islam as the state religion in 922 on the territory of modern Russia. Now representatives of 26 regions of Russia and 6 foreign countries receive theological Islamic education there. Sviyazhsk is a unique island with ancient Orthodox churches and a rich history. Tatarstan pays great attention to the preservation of history, so these points on the map of the republic attract both tourists and pilgrims. Here guests can plunge into the atmosphere of Russian and Tatar hospitality, get acquainted with our history, delicious cuisine, appreciate the beauty of our region," said Sergey Ivanov, Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan for Tourism.

The excursion program to Bolgar will take place on May 21, the day of the "Izge Bolgar Zhyena" — an event reminiscent of the adoption of Islam by the Volga Bulgars in 922.
In addition, guests will be offered a sightseeing tour of Kazan with a visit to the Kazan Kremlin and the Old Tatar Settlement.

It is expected that over 15 thousand people will participate in the forum "Russia — the Islamic World: KazanForum" in Tatarstan.
