The head of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia will talk about the main vectors of development of cooperation in the scientific and educational sphere.

The XIV International Economic Forum of Russia and the OIC countries "Russia – the Islamic World: KazanForum 2023" will be held in Kazan on May 18-19. The Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Valery Falkov at the session of Kazan Federal University "Cooperation in the field of science and higher education with the OIC countries" will present a report on the strategy for the development of cooperation in the field of science and higher education with the OIC countries.

"KFU is the organizer of two sessions of the forum in the track "Education". Together with the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation and Moscow State University, our university is the organizer of the panel session "Cooperation in the field of science and higher education with the OIC countries". In addition, KFU is holding a session "Russia – the countries of the Muslim world in the new matrix of international economic relations"," said Marat Safiullin, Vice–Rector for Economic and Strategic Development of KFU.

According to M. Safiullin, the moderator of the session "Cooperation in the field of science and higher education with the OIC countries" will be the president of the Russian Union of Rectors, Rector of Lomonosov Moscow State University Viktor Sadovnichy. The Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Valery Falkov will present at the session the report "Strategy for the development of cooperation in the field of science and higher education with the OIC countries", and the rector of Kazan Federal University Lenar Safin will talk about the experience of cooperation between KFU and universities of the Islamic world. Among the announced speakers are ministers, rectors of Russian and foreign universities, as well as other guests of honor.

M. Safiullin recalled that on October 24, 2022, the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia and the OIC signed a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of science and higher education. It is planned to develop joint projects and programs in the following areas: modern information and communication technologies; training of engineering and scientific personnel; preservation of cultural diversity; development of intercultural and interfaith dialogue through education; promotion of the study of languages, literature, history and culture of the OIC countries, etc.

At the section "Russia – the countries of the Muslim world in the new matrix of international economic relations", its participants will consider the prospects of cooperation between Russia and the OIC countries in the field of science and higher education. The session will be moderated by the Head of the Department of International Economic Relations of the Institute of International Relations of KFU Aigul Nurieva.

"The tradition of regularly holding the forum in the capital of Tatarstan originated in 2009. Since this year, it has acquired federal status, – says A. Nurieva. – The session will include reports by prominent Russian and foreign scientists, representatives of government bodies and the business community of Russia and Muslim countries. For example, Envarbik Fazelyanov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation, Professor of the Institute of World Economy and International Finance, Head of the Center for Ecology and Development of the Institute of Europe of the Russian Academy of Sciences Sergey Roginko, leading researcher of the Institute of State and Law of the Russian Academy of Sciences, specialist in Islamic law Leonid Syukiyainen, President of the Association of Muslim Entrepreneurs of the Russian Federation Aidar, confirmed their participation Shagimardanov, Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Children and Youth Affairs of the Republic of Yemen Hossam Mustafa Salam Kassem, Member of Parliament of the Arab Republic of Egypt Rasha Sobhi Abu Shakra, Director of the Institute of International Relations of KFU Ramil Khairutdinov".

More than 6 thousand people from 64 countries will take part in the event, the main platform for economic cooperation between Russia and the Islamic world. More than 140 sessions will be organized at the forum. The key topics of the program are Islamic finance, Halal industry, investment, industry, logistics, technology, international cooperation, diplomacy and others. The event will include the International Exhibition Russia Halal Expo and the International Halal Industry Fair Russia Halal Market.

The International Economic Forum of Russia and the OIC member countries will be held with the support of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan. More than 1 thousand volunteers, including students of KFU, will take part in the organization of the event.
