The heads of the largest news agencies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) countries together with their Russian colleagues will hold a media session "Russia – the Islamic World: Media Cooperation for Sustainable Development and Economic Prosperity", which will be held on the sidelines of the International Economic Forum "Russia – the Islamic World: KazanForum 2023". The expanded discussion will be attended by the Director General of the Union of Information Agencies of the OIC (UNA) Mohammed Abdrabbo Aliami, as well as the heads of the largest news agencies in Russia, Iraq, Kuwait, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Turkey, etc. "Currently, the media are the driving force of sustainable development and economic partnership between the countries. That is why media cooperation – "media diplomacy" – in modern conditions promotes the diplomacy of its states, provides equal access to information and counteracts the politicization of the media. In this regard, Russia stands for an active dialogue with the countries of the Islamic world to combat common information threats," said Aidar Salimgarayev, head of the Republican Agency for Press and Mass Communications Tatmedia. About 700 media representatives applied to cover KazanForum events. More than 60 journalists from 42 foreign media outlets from 22 countries of the world will work at the venues. For the convenience of journalists, a media center on an area of 1,500 square meters is being built on the territory of the Kazan Expo International exhibition complex. It will consist of a working area with 100 seats, a food, recreation area and partner headquarters. The media center will broadcast sessions of the forum's business program. The main television broadcaster will be VGTRK "Russia".

The central venue of the event is the Kazan Expo IEC.

The operator for the preparation and holding of the event is the Roscongress Foundation, the executive directorate of the operator is the ANO Directorate of Sports and Social Projects.
