KazanForum will continue to build industrial cooperation with Islamic countries

Industrial cooperation with Islamic countries will become a key topic of the upcoming KazanForum in May 2026. The program for the “International Cooperation” track on May 14-15 includes working groups, round-table discussions, and a trade and industrial dialogue “Russia – Arab World.” Tatarstan is demonstrating successful cooperation by developing Republican industrial parks abroad, building value chains, and demonstrating the growing number of foreign investment projects at home, as well as the expansion of regional companies into foreign markets.
There are two industrial parks operating in Uzbekistan, which are located in the cities of Chirchiq and Jizzakh, and two more facilities, that are similar, are currently under development.
“Industrial parks in the Bukhara and Navoi Regions are being created as universal industrial sites, therefore, they are open to projects from export-oriented companies across a variety of industries. The parks’ key objective is to create the most comfortable conditions for investors. We are ready to support the localization of production at these sites,” the press service of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan reported.
Another industrial park is operating in Sumgait, Azerbaijan. The first complex was commissioned in February, and four more are planned for the future. The total construction area within the industrial park will be 50,000 square meters. All such projects are joint ones: construction is carried out by a foreign state, while investor selection and other tasks are handled by management companies from Tatarstan. In addition to this, companies from the Republic are participating in major projects in Türkiye, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, and other countries.
The Head of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sergey Katyrin said that the Republic of Tatarstan is cooperating with investors from the UAE, Malaysia, and Türkiye. Examples include partnerships in the automotive, development, and petrochemical industries. Contacts with Oman are expanding, including participation in specialized exhibitions and negotiations on joint initiatives, including in industry. He noted that the United Arab Emirates is one of Russia’s leading partners among Islamic countries in terms of the scale and diversification of industrial, trade, and economic ties.
In order to systematically expand our partnership and enter new markets, it is important to increase the volume and range of mutual deliveries, as well as expand industry cooperation and the geography of collaboration overall. To this end, business missions and events such as the International Economic Forum “Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum” are organized regularly.
