Modest Fashion Day Show Held in Kazan

A Modest Fashion Day show took place at the Pyramid Cultural and Entertainment Complex in Kazan as part of the XVII International Economic Forum "Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum". Designers from Russia, CIS countries, the Middle East and Southeast Asia presented their collections on the catwalk.

The Modest Fashion segment has great potential and room for growth, said Taliya Minullina, Head of the Investment Development Agency of the Republic of Tatarstan. According to her, holding a modest fashion show within the framework of an international economic forum provides an opportunity to create a business platform for designers where they can discuss the challenges and topical issues they face.

"Modest Fashion Day is of great interest to KazanForum guests. It adorns this event. The international presence here is very rich," Taliya Minullina stated.

Demand for Modest Fashion is currently growing, said Diana Zhalilova, a participant of the Modest Fashion Day show, designer and founder of the "DINÁ" brand from Chelyabinsk.
"Modest Fashion is now gaining momentum; it is quite a trendy direction. Women prefer more modest, restrained clothing in order to feel more comfortable," she stated.

Russia was represented at Modest Fashion Day by designers from Kazan (The Madinna), Ufa (MIRANG) and Chelyabinsk (DINÁ). Designers from Morocco (El Couhen Creations), Malaysia (YANI BAKHTIAR), Indonesia (3Giffary), Uzbekistan (Mursak), Turkmenistan (MIRAS) and Pakistan (Nida Azwer Atelier) also brought their collections.

The Modest Fashion Day show is one of the key events of the cultural programme of the International Economic Forum "Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum", bringing together designers, fashion industry experts and representatives of the international professional community. The project aims to develop international cooperation in the creative industries, support designers working in the modest fashion segment, and expand professional dialogue between representatives of the fashion industry in Russia and the Islamic world.
