Egypt Confirms Participation in KazanForum 2026

Trade turnover between Tatarstan and Egypt has grown more than eightfold since 2020, having reached $230 million, Minnikhanov said. The republic also offered to share its experience in digitalization, technology parks and special economic zones.
Cooperation in education was another key topic. On Abdel Fattah el-Sisi’s orders, a branch of the Kazan Federal University opened in Cairo in 2023, and new programs in artificial intelligence and physiotherapy are planned to be launched.
El-Sisi also congratulated Russia on Kazan being named the Cultural Capital of the Islamic World. The official opening ceremony for the year designated as “Kazan – Cultural Capital of the Islamic World” will take place during KazanForum 2026.
Egypt has officially confirmed it will take part in the upcoming forum. Izzat Saad, Director of the Egyptian Council on Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, is set to speak at a session titled “Greater Eurasian Partnership” on May 14, 2026 at the IEC “Kazan Expo”.
