New way: North-South ITC requires unprecedented infrastructure development
Logistics chains in 2022 were actually built anew, said Alevtina Kirillova, Director General of the Eurasian AgroLogistics, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, at a press conference at the XIV International Forum "Russia - Islamic World: KazanForum".
"Last year, all transporters and logisticians faced an unprecedented situation when all the logistics chains built up over the years were broken because of the foreign sanctions policy. This required a very serious generation of our efforts to build new supply chains and address a number of infrastructure issues. The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation provided great support here. And now also infrastructure projects on roads, railroads and seaports are more actively developed in order to expand infrastructure and cargo output. Throughout the year we have been putting together new chains, like a mosaic of puzzles. And now we are ready to say that cargoes are moving", - said Kirillova.
The creation of the international transport corridor "North-South", she noted, sets new tasks for transport workers and logisticians to create infrastructure.
Rector of the Astrakhan State University Konstantin Markelov spoke about the personnel training process for ensuring the work of the transport corridor. "Personnel training is a very important problem. Quite recently at the transport forum in Astrakhan it was discussed that those companies which today are engaged in maintenance of the transport corridor have an acute deficiency not only of logisticians, but also IT specialists and engineers. We will solve this problem in the next years", - said Markelov.
