Valentin Makarov, Member of the Management Board of APKIT, President of Russoft, stressed that the withdrawal of American companies from the Russian IT market did not stop its activity. Today, Russia has the genome of technological sovereignty in the field of IT. This changed the attitude towards the country on the part of many states, including India, China and Islamic countries.

Aidar Gashigullin, Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Turkey, noted that the IT technologies sphere is very attractive for Russian-Turkish cooperation. Today, the Turkish ICT market is worth USD 30 billion and is constantly growing. Priority areas are 5G technologies, cyber security, Internet of things, artificial intelligence.

Today, there are several successful examples of Russian companies entering the Turkish market: IT solutions for the mining industry, digital solutions for marketplaces, vehicle traffic control. A promising direction for the development of Russian-Turkish relations could be the creation of a working group on digitalization within the framework of the mixed Russian-Turkish Commission. In addition, it makes sense to attract Turkish companies to international IT conferences held in Russia.

Aleksey Mudrakov, Project Manager for Client Relations of REC, AO, emphasized that today Islamic countries are one of the promising regions for the promotion of Russian software. The task of the REC is to increase the volume of non-resource exports, including the one effected at the expense of IT companies. To this end, the REC implements a number of effective tools: companies’ support starting from an idea and to the conclusion of an export contract, information transfer through digital channels (the flagship project is My Export platform), and rendering educational services. 6 consultations are planned in the near future: with the UAE, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Iraq, Bangladesh and Turkey representatives.

The company’s representative offices are located in 11 countries, including in 6 Islamic countries.

Dmitry Shushkin, Head of the RUSSOFT Representative Office in the UAE, believes that in order to do business effectively in the Eastern countries, it is necessary to create a competitive product and use the best world practices without relying on personal connections with high-ranking officials. It is important to act according to classical standards, starting with market research, positioning analysis, segmentation, and resource assessment. There is certain interest in the Russian product in these countries, but it needs to be better advertised. It is important to build a competent marketing system. There is a shortage of qualified specialists in the Eastern countries, thus there is an interest in Russian engineering and technical personnel.

Farrokhzadeh Mohammad, Vice- Governor of Shiraz for International Affairs, Iran, noted that Iran has almost 40 years of experience in the IT market. Not only large technology parks are developing in the country, but also small companies, including family businesses and startups. Almost all Iranian universities have IT departments. Information technologies are actively used in the industrial sector, including the oil industry.

To date, Iranian IT specialists have approved themselves all over the world. Iran is very interested in joint projects with Russia. The speaker believes that in the context of the changing geopolitical situation in the world, it is necessary to conclude a memorandum, similar to the Shanghai agreement, uniting Russia and Islamic countries.
