Living Tradition
Under the cultural program of the forum in the exhibition hall of The National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan, the exhibition "Living Tradition" will be held from May 15 to July 15 in 2024 with the participation of The State Museum and Exhibition Center "ROSIZO".
The concept of the exhibition is to combine ancient artifacts and works of modern art from the Islamic world in one space.
The object of the exhibition will be ancient artifacts from the collection of The National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Marjani Foundation.
Works of Soviet art from the collection of "Rosizo" will act as modern art and the past decades from private collections.
The concept of the art exhibition at the National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan unites two temporary layers of Islamic culture:
- modern fine and decorative arts;
- ancient artifacts.
Their combination in the exhibition underlines the inseparable integrity of Islamic culture from different eras. Moreover, the comparison of the old and the new gives the understanding of the living tradition of Islamic art, obvious and non–obvious connections: plastic and philosophical.
Soviet Artists` works of contemporary art are presented from the collection of the State Museum and Exhibition Center "ROSIZO", as well as works of recent decades from the Marjani Foundation and other private collections.
