Lecture: Developing a management system based on integrity and values: Malaysia's experience

"Let's look at the Human Development Index (HDI) in 2020. Malaysia was ranked 62nd out of 189. The average life expectancy stood at 76.2 years. Gross national income per capita was $27,534," Dr. Anis Yusal Yusoff, Executive Director of the International Institute of Public Policy and Management (INPUMA) of the University of Malaya, provided the statistics.
Anti-corruption fight and transparency in public administration were one of the main lecture topics. The speaker provided statistics on the areas prone to corruption based on the analysis from 2013 to 2018, outlining that 42.84% of corruption cases occur in the field of procurement. There is also a high rate in the law enforcement services which is 23.92 %. In addition, administrative bodies, licensing, finance, business and industry are prone to corruption. The lowest percentages are observed in the investment, law, defense and security, the judiciary fields.
"We are ranked 57th out of 180 countries on the Corruption Perception Index calculated in Germany <...> We see that we need to work really hard in terms of fighting corruption and achieving integrity and security," the speaker said.
Dr. Anis Yusal Yusoff gave advice on how to create a sustainable culture of honesty, transparency and accountability. The lecturer noted that communication is the most important part, noting that it should be clear and concise without being confusing. It is essential to build a strategy for internal and external communications. In addition, he noted the need for training, advocacy in the media and in the arts.
The 15th International Economic Forum "Russia - Islamic World: KazanForum 2024" is being held on May 14-19 in Kazan. This year's keynote is "Trust and Cooperation." The main goal of the forum is to strengthen trade and economic, scientific and technical, social and cultural ties between Russian regions and the countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), as well as to promote the development of the Islamic financial system institutions in Russia.
