Guided tour around the Kazan Art School named after Nicolai Fechin with a visit to the School of Creative Industries

A unique architectural monument of federal importance of the early XX century; the School graduates are representatives of the Russian avant-garde scene: Nicolai Fechin, Alexander Rodchenko, David Burliuk; a modern educational institution. The restored educational building is the historical part of the School. It was built in 1904 by the architect Karl Müffke. The construction was supervised by the Imperial Academy of Arts and was set as a reference building for fine arts classes

The island-town of Sviyazhsk is a historical and cultural gem of the Republic of Tatarstan. The ancient fortress was built in the distant Middle Ages during the reign of Ivan the Terrible and served as a military outpost in the Volga region, as well as a place of rest and preparation of military units for a campaign against the impregnable fortress of Kazan. The island-town of Sviyazhsk is famous for its history and the beauty of natural and town-planning landscape. You can visit the following unique monasteries on the island: Assumption-Bogoroditsky and of John the Baptist, with the oldest church in Tatarstan.
