Youth policy will be discussed at the meeting of the “Russia – Islamic World” Group

The Meeting will be held in May

The Meeting of the Strategic Vision Group “Russia – Islamic World”, to be held in May, will be devoted to the experience of Russia and the countries of the Islamic world in the field of youth policy. This was announced by Rustam Minnikhanov, Head of the Republic of Tatarstan, Head of the Strategic Vision Group “Russia - Islamic World”, at the 13th Conference of the Ministers of Culture in the Islamic World in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, as reported by the press service of the Tatarstan Head.

“We attach great importance to the upcoming Meeting of the Group in May this year. It will pertain to the experience of Russia and the countries of the Islamic world in the field of youth policy. The Meeting will be held within the framework of the KazanForum. It brings together representatives of government, business, financial organisations, and the expert community every year. I invite you as guests of honour,” Minnikhanov’s press service quoted him as saying.

Rustam Minnikhanov is on a business trip to Saudi Arabia.

He noted that Russia has close, trust-based relations with Islamic states both bilaterally and withing the frame for interaction with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. “Evidence of our Islamic partners’ commitment to the principles of multipolarity is the expansion of BRICS,” Minnikhanov commented.

Minnikhanov also met with Hissein Ibrahim Taha, Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and invited him to take part in KazanForum, which will be held in Tatarstan in May. The OIC Secretary General, in turn, commended the work of the Strategic Vision Group “Russia – Islamic World”. “We count on enhancing the cooperation of the Group headed by you with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation,” his press service quoted.

At the end of 2023, there has been an 83% increase in the trade turnover of Tatarstan with the countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, amounting to $5.7 billion.
