The round table discussed key issues related to the dynamics of Islamic banking development over the past year, new products and services in this area, as well as legislative changes affecting this area.
The main theses of the participants:
1.Increase in the number of companies in the Central Bank register
Midhat Shagiakhmetov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and Minister of Economy, emphasized the need to speed up the work to include more companies in the Central Bank register.
2.Development of the state support
Airat Farrakhov, Deputy of the State Duma, noted the importance of developing state support measures and equalizing access to them for all market participants.
3.Сreation of unified standards for Islamic finance
Marat Sadriev, director of the Islamic banking center of PAO Ak Bars Bank, suggested developing unified standards for Islamic (partnership) financing products. This should take place with the participation of representatives of clergy and business, as well as the mutual approval of standards with the Central Bank of Russia.
4.Raising awareness of the population and businesses
Marat Sharifullin, manager of the National Bank's branch in the Republic of Tatarstan of the Volga and Vyatka Main Department of the Central Bank of Russia, emphasized the need to raise awareness of both the population and businesses about the opportunities of Islamic finance.
5.Implementation of Artificial Intelligence Technologies
Behnam Gurban-Zadeh, Managing Director and Head of the Partnership Finance Center and Special Projects of PAO Sberbank, suggested using Artificial Intelligence tools to improve customer service and increase sales.
