Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said in a video message: "This meeting brought together active, successful and talented women, representatives of politics, business, parliamentary diplomacy and leaders of social movements from the countries of the Islamic world. Today, international relations are going through a difficult period that brings changes in many areas of life. Due to the fault of the collective West, the traditional tools of diplomacy are becoming more and more obsolete, and at the same time the importance of a consolidating agenda that promotes nations, including women's diplomacy, is growing today. Russia proceeds from a growing need to build bridges of cooperation with the majority of countries in the world. We stand together for our independent path of development, and this is confirmed by numerous international events that have taken place in our country recently. It is only natural that women, the guardians of spiritual and moral values, should play a special role in public diplomacy. Russia and the countries of the Islamic world are traditionally characterized by a respectful attitude towards women. Women have long been excellent specialists in various fields, true professionals in their work. We often talk about this on the platform of relevant forums organized in our country. This discussion platform is a good opportunity. In view of the theme of this event, contacts between Russia and the countries of the Islamic world have recently intensified. Political dialogue is growing, including inter-parliamentary cooperation, exchanges between ministries and agencies are developing, trade, economic and humanitarian ties are expanding. Today's meeting will open new opportunities for interesting ideas that will further strengthen friendship and mutual understanding between the peoples of Russia and the countries of the Islamic world, promote international humanitarian cooperation and our mutual understanding."
Galina Karelova, Chairwoman of the Council of the Eurasian Women's Forum under Russia’s Federation Council, expressed her gratitude and extended invitation to all events of the Women's Outlook track.
Alsu Rustemovna Nabieva, President of the Russian University of Cooperation and Head of the Merkhemet - Miloserdie Association of Women Deputies of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan, supported her colleagues' thesis that the women's agenda is gaining momentum today. "We have been actively working with girls on various platforms throughout the year, we traveled to the United Arab Emirates, Africa. We want to share our experience so that the future generation of girls who are here will look at us and take an example," she emphasized.
Yekaterina Filipovna Lakhova, Chairwoman of the All-Russian Public State Organization Union of Women of Russia, said: "The foundation of any state is the family. Traditional family values are important. Our goals are to promote the state family policy, raise the social status of women, support social initiatives, implement the national strategy for women, involve women in solving social problems, and so on."
