“You are the chairman of the BRICS Business Council,” Rustam Minnikhanov said, addressing Katyrin. “We are looking forward to a major event in October, and we will have to thoroughly prepare for that. It will be our priority. We would certainly like to have our investment venture fund involved here. I would like to express words of gratitude again to our guests, to you, Sergey, and to your team that we always find understanding. Out partners have joined us here at your invitation. And I would like to wish us a fruitful joint work and fruitful results,” he added.

In his welcoming remarks, Sergey Katyrin told about the activity of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the number and geography of governments both inside the country and abroad.

“The meeting of Chambers of Commerce and Industry as part of the forum in Kazan has become a tradition. Last year, more than 200 people took part, and today there is a very large number of delegates of Chambers of Commerce and Industry from foreign countries and Russia involving 300 participants here, more than 20 heads of foreign chambers, 100 heads of regional and municipal chambers. Businessmen from Iran, Afghanistan, Libya, Egypt, Pakistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, as well as Russian regions are also taking part. <…> Today we are faced with new challenges in the context of restrictions imposed on Russia. And there is a great need to find new ways to solve current problems,” Katyrin said.

Deputy Chairwoman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Nodira Shotursunova expressed her gratitude for the invitation to attend the meeting of representatives of Chambers of Commerce and Industry. According to her, Uzbekistan and Russia have enjoyed a long-standing historical, cultural, and economic relationship. Shotursunova noted that friendly ties with the Republic of Tatarstan, which in recent years have reached a brand-new level, deserve special attention. Today, Uzbekistan and Tatarstan are implementing a number of joint projects in such areas as machine building, agriculture, chemical industry, tourism, construction and others. “Today, it would be useful to discuss setting up an electronic platform for online trading in goods and services between manufacturers from different countries, which will also contribute to developing interregional trade and reducing the time spent searching for goods and suppliers. It is necessary to discuss the development of cooperation in the field of electronic fees by developing and adopting an online payment system, reducing transfer fees, etc.,” Shotursunova suggested.

President of Libya’s General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture Mohammad Abdul Karim Raied shared his vision of how relations with Russia have been evolving: “Libya is a stable country that needs to develop its real estate. My mission here is to invite Russian companies to Libya, to join the development of oil production and the studying of alternative energy resources, for example, solar energy. Besides, we are interested in developing railways. <…> Law works well in Libya and it offers protection to investors. Also, Libya uses multiple natural resources that are necessary to develop industrial production,” he said.
Board Member, Deputy Treasurer of the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce and Industry Hassan El-Shafei also highlighted the stable relationship between Russia and Egypt based on mutual respect. “The relations between Egypt and Russia are very longstanding. We have been and will be friends. Egyptian exports to Russia are now growing, these include wheat, iron, and steel. We have lately seen great successes, and excellent organization,” he said.

Chairwoman of the Investment Development Agency of the Republic of Tatartsan Talia Minullina praised the importance of the meeting of delegations and thanked those present for the honor of being there. “I would like to say a special thanks to the heads of the Chambers of Commerce of Afghanistan, Libya and the Republic of Turkey. And, of course, we would like to ask to involve businesses more actively in our work at the venue and encourage them to work at the forum in various directions,” she said. Also, Minullina invited all guests to visit numerous exhibitions and festivals, including a festival of national cuisines and a fair of halal products.
